Mr. Stoops is an experienced trial attorney who appears frequently in federal courts across the United States and practices in state courts throughout Michigan. Kevin focuses his practice on business litigation in which capacity he often represents parties in complex cases spanning various industries including the automotive industry. Additionally, Kevin has vast experience in trade secret/business tort litigation, intellectual property litigation, employment litigation, and probate litigation.
Through a practical and honest approach, Kevin has established a reputation for providing the cost-effective representation that is sought after more than ever in today's economic times by individual clients, as well as multi-national businesses. Kevin has had substantial success obtaining and representing both types of clients (often at the expense of Kevin's "large law firm" competitors) in numerous complex, high-dollar litigation matters. These clients seek out Kevin's representation because they know that they will not only get excellent litigation representation but will also limit their legal expenditures as a result of Kevin's unique fee structures (often involving the use of "alternative fee arrangements" including contingent fees) that are specifically tailored to each client's needs.
Kevin went into law because he enjoys the intellectual challenge that results from an ever evolving legal landscape. Since becoming a lawyer, he's learned just how important his work is to every one of his clients. "It's not often that you find a profession where the outcome of your work can – and often does – have a profound impact on the life of your client and his or her family." Kevin has three children, Kevin Jr., Donavin and Dominick and he coaches their sports teams, although, to his chagrin, his coaching efforts do not often have a profound impact on the final outcome of the games.
