William (Bill) Brukoff is a senior shareholder at Sommers Schwartz, P.C., specializing in Divorce and Family Law matters. He practices primarily in Oakland, Wayne, Macomb and Washtenaw Counties. Bill is a member of the Family Law Sections of the Michigan Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He has previously served as chairman of the Oakland County Family Law Committee.

Bill has been selected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the Michigan Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has been recognized as being one of the "Best Lawyers in America," in Family Law by Woodward & White. He also served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, Judge Advocate General’s Office as Chief Defense Attorney and Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the First Marine Division. Mr. Brukoff has specialized in the area of Divorce and Family Law for more than 20 years. He also serves as a Mediator and Arbitrator in Family Law matters.

Bill has lectured and presented at Family Law seminars for the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association and the Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and is the author of an article published in the Michigan Family Law Journal titled, "Eligible Domestic Relations Orders in Michigan-Not as Much Protection as You May Think."
