Lisa Mikalonis is a media attorney and commercial litigator, focusing on intellectual property disputes. Her clients include print and broadcast media, web based businesses, software developers, publishers, authors, inventors, entertainment and gaming establishments, educational institutions and a variety of commercial entities.
In the courtroom, Lisa handles patent infringement, legal malpractice, and complex commercial disputes, and serves as local counsel for attorneys around the country in intellectual property and commercial litigation. In the boardroom, she advises clients in the protection of intellectual property rights and negotiates and drafts license, service, subscription, maintenance and support, advertising, sponsorship, location, confidentiality and gaming agreements.
Before joining Sommers Schwartz, Lisa was Assistant General Counsel to MotorCity Casino, and prior to that, she was the Assistant Dean for Career Services at the Wayne State University Law School, where she has also taught Legal Research and Writing and Media Law. She has participated in numerous panel discussions in the areas of media law and the status of women in the legal profession.
