A reputable employment lawyer
on your side can make a difference

Compensation disputes often arise over issues such as overtime pay, bonuses, commissions and other salary and non-salary aspects of pay for work completed.

Consider commissions, for example. When a sales representative spends months or years developing a potential or on-going customer, and sells multiple-year re-orders, it seems fair for that rep to receive commissions over the entire life of the re-orders. Some employers, however, insist on cutting off commissions after the sales rep no longer works at the same company. If there was no solid post-termination commission agreement in place, then that rep should consult with an employment lawyer, because there are strong arguments in favor of extending commissions over the full life cycle of the sale. If this hypothetical sales rep were our client, we would approach the decision makers at his or her place of employment to negotiate this dispute.
