Mr. Young is an associate attorney at Sommers Schwartz.
He attended Western Michigan University, where he received
his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice in 2001. He
received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the
Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2009. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Young owned and operated
a residential construction business for nearly four years. He
learned the business through many years of working for and
with his father. Mr. Young remains a licensed builder, although
he only considers it a hobby these days. Mr. Young hails from a small town near Kalamazoo, where he
developed a blue-collar work ethic and an appreciation for
building lasting relationships based on loyalty and trust. He
still enjoys traveling to the area to relax and visit family. Mr. Young is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. His
practice currently focuses on employment litigation, business
litigation, and class actions. Mr. Young represents employees in need of help with severance negotiations, discrimination and retaliation. Additionally, Mr. Young represents persons and businesses experiencing contractual disputes and/or business torts. In his personal life, Mr. Young enjoys recreational sports and playing the guitar. Mr. Young is happily married and recently became the proud father of his first son. Education:
