As a child, Michael was interested in business. Whenever he asked his father a question about business, he would answer the question in a way that Michael understood. As he grew older, the answers grew more complex, but also more interesting. Thus, shortly after graduating De Paul, Michael knew that he wanted to be involved in the business world, but in a way that demanded a professional degree. Forsaking a graduate degree in business, he decided to pursue law. And he has no regrets whatsoever. Michael enjoyed working for and with his father. “He is a large part of the reason why I chose law as a career and why my family and I came back to Michigan so I could practice. I don't think it is overstating anything to say that he is a brilliant guy and an outstanding attorney. What people need to know about this firm is that attorneys like my father are the norm, not the exception.” In the past, Michael has volunteered at the Tax Assistance Program of Chicago and is looking for a similar organization in the Detroit area, allowing him to prepare tax returns for poor and middle class families with the goal of returning to them refundable credits while, at the same time, saving them the cost of tax preparation. Michael is married to Pui Yu Fung, who is from Hong Kong, and they have a son, Aaron. Michael is a bit of a fitness buff, enjoying jogging and playing soccer. In the winter of 2007 he joined his family in Colorado so that they could all learn how to ski.
