Southfield, Michigan - - Sommers Schwartz is pleased to announce the following appointments to the Firm’s management structure: Joseph Bourgon, a shareholder in the firm’s business finance department, has been selected as its Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Bourgon will be responsible for strategic planning, operations and financial management of the Firm. Before becoming a shareholder at Sommers Schwartz, Mr. Bourgon had extensive experience as a commercial banker.

Daniel D. Swanson was named Chairman of the Board of Directors. Swanson is a shareholder and a member of the firm’s employment and commercial litigation department. Matthew G. Curtis was named Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Curtis is a shareholder and a member of the Firm’s personal injury litigation department.

In addition to Mr. Swanson and Mr. Curtis, the Sommers Schwartz Board of Directors consists of Andrew Kochanowski, a member of the complex business and intellectual property department; Steven J. Schwartz, a member of the commercial transactional practice department and Robert B. Sickels, a member of the birth injury, medical malpractice and general negligence department.
