Sommers Schwartz is pleased to announce that Michigan Lawyers Weekly selected Parker Stinar to the 2017 class of “Up & Coming Lawyers.” He will be formally honored at an award luncheon on at the Detroit Marriott in Troy on December 7th.
According to Michigan Lawyers Weekly, the honor is bestowed upon attorneys “who are establishing a name for themselves, go above and beyond, and display the ambition, drive, determination, and accomplishments that set them apart among their peers — in their first ten years in practice.”
Just six years into his career, Parker has achieved a high level of success, building a practice focused on medical malpractice, birth injury, and personal injury litigation. In Michigan alone, he has litigated matters in more than 20 counties, and he has tried cases in eight different counties nationally, serving as first chair in ten trials and as second chair in two – as an associate.
He has secured numerous verdicts, including two seven-figure verdicts, one of which was for $3 million in a trial where Parker served as first chair. Recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for three years in a row, Parker has earned the respect of plaintiffs’ counsel and defense counsel alike.
Outside of the practice, Parker is a dedicated volunteer for the Miracle League of Plymouth, and he recently organized the first annual Motion to Strike – Plaintiff vs. Defense charitable softball game for the Detroit Bar Association. He has also taken on positions normally filled by attorneys well into their careers, including service on the Board of Directors for the Barristers Section of the Detroit Bar Association, chairing the Plaintiff Medical Malpractice Section, and participating on the Judicial Candidate Evaluation Committee.
Congratulations, Parker, on this distinguished honor!
