  • $46 Million Class Action Settlement in Pyramid Scheme Lawsuit

Schwartz attorneys Andrew Kochanowski and Lance Young were co-class counsel securing a settlement for more than 170,000 sales distributors across the U.S. in a RICO class action that claimed the plaintiffs were defrauded in an illegal pyramid scheme. The suit alleged that the defendants induced the plaintiffs to participate in the illegal pyramid scheme by misrepresenting that the venture was a legitimate business opportunity and defrauded the plaintiffs to the point that all have lost their investment. The defendants, of course, denied liability.

The settlement came after nine years of litigation, including an appeal to the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

A copy of the settlement agreement may be obtained from counsel.
