- What is a birth injury?
“Birth injury” describes any injury to the mother or child before, during, or after the labor and delivery process. Contrary to popular belief, the United States is the most dangerous country in the world to deliver a baby. Recent statistics estimate over 50,000 US mothers per year experience serious injuries during the birthing process, and 700 die during or shortly after childbirth.
