SOUTHFIELD, MI – The American College of Trial Lawyers, an elite association of courtroom-proven professionals from across the United States and Canada, has inducted attorney Judith A. Susskind as a fellow.
Membership in ACTL is by invitation only following a rigorous screening process. The College thoroughly investigates each nominee for admission and selects only those who have demonstrated the very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism, and collegiality.
“I am both thrilled and deeply humbled by this honor,” said Ms. Susskind, a shareholder with Sommers Schwartz, P.C. in Southfield, Michigan, a leading contingency-based firm.
For more than 30 years, Ms. Susskind has successfully handled a variety of medical malpractice cases, obtaining favorable outcomes for individuals and families whose lives were forever changed due to the negligence of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers. She has been included on the list of Michigan Super Lawyers each year since 2006, and Best Lawyers named her “Lawyer of the Year” for medical malpractice in Detroit in 2015 and 2017 respectively. In 2002, she won a record-breaking three medical malpractice trials in less than 11 weeks, and in 2004, Michigan Lawyers Weekly named Ms. Susskind “Lawyer of the Year,” an honor based on peer recognition for being the “winning-est” lawyer for plaintiffs in the state.
In addition to ACTL, she is also a fellow of the American Board of Trial Advocates and sits on the Executive Board of the Michigan Association for Justice.
