On May 26, 2015, Sommers Schwartz attorney Rob Sickels took to the podium at the Michigan Association for Justice’s 8th Annual Bench & Bar Seminar, advising the audience on developments in various defective hip implant lawsuits across the country.
Mr. Sickels, himself a double hip implant recipient, spoke on the status of cases involving defective medical devices such as DePuy ASR and Pinnacle, Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II, and DePuy Pinnacle, Wright Medical Technologies Profemur and Conserve, and Biomet metal-on-metal models. Along with national settlements that have been reached multidistrict litigation, he also reviewed best practices for matter intake and screening and case management.
MAJ’s mission is to promote a fair and effective justice system, and to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in Michigan’s courtrooms.
