Video Transcript: Minimum Wage For Tipped Employees
Workers who receive tips, like waitresses or waiters, are entitled to the minimum wage, but it works a little differently for those folks. The employer is required to pay them at least $2.13 an hour, but their tips must equal the amount of the minimum wage, which is $7.25 an hour. If their total compensation does not equal $7.25 an hour, the employer must pay the difference.
