The Family Medical Leave Act protects people, employees, who require a medical leave because they’re suffering from a serious health condition, a family member who they are a caregiver for is suffering from such a condition, they’re having a baby, or they’re adopting a baby. If the employer fires you because you’ve sought such a leave, that employer is violating the Family and Medical Act, and you may have a basis to challenge that employers decision by filing a law suit.
