Video Transcript: What Laws Protect At-Will Employees?
At-will employees are those employees who an employer may terminate for any reason, with or without cause, at any time. Even if you’re an at-will employee, you do have protections. Those protections are provided under state and federal law. Those protections include the right to be free from discrimination if you’re a member of a protected group, such as you’re a woman, you’re a racial minority, you’re over the age of 40. There are other laws that protect even at-will employees from wrongful discharge and other types of discrimination.
