In the interim, she experienced unnecessary abdominal pain, bloating, and bloody diarrhea, and later underwent additional surgery to repair the rectal injury, followed by prolonged hospitalization. weeks. She is now seeking damages from the surgeon and the hospital where the initial surgery was performed, and her husband is claiming loss of consortium.
