  • $700,000 Settlement for Call Center Reps in Wage Theft Class Action Against West Business Solutions

Sommers Schwartz attorneys Kevin Stoops and Matthew Turner secured a $700,00 class action settlement on behalf of customer service representatives employed by West Business Solutions, LLC at its Reno, Nevada call center. The lawsuit alleged that the plaintiffs were forced to use certain computer programs and applications but were not paid for time spent logging in before commencing their shifts or logging out after their shifts ended. Under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and Nevada wage and hour laws, West was required to compensate the plaintiffs for this “off the clock” work, which often totaled several minutes each day.
