The Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC), an association of leading lawyers in Michigan dedicated to representing individuals and corporations in civil litigation, has named Daniel D. Swanson the recipient of its Respected Advocate Award for 2019.

Each year, the MDTC gives the award to a member of the plaintiff’s bar in recognition of that lawyer’s history of successfully representing clients and adhering to the highest standards of ethics, mutual respect, and civility.

Dan concentrates his practice on employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and Family & Medical Leave Act violations, as well as negotiation of employment contracts, non-competition and non-solicitation covenants, and severance agreements. He also draws from his extensive advocacy experience to help parties resolve their differences as a neutral in arbitrations, mediations, facilitations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

The MDTC’s Respected Advocate Award is the latest in a long series of accolades for Dan. Lawdragon has repeatedly selected him as one the 500 Leading Plaintiff Employment Lawyers in the U.S., and he appears perennially on the lists of Best Lawyers in America© and Michigan Super Lawyers. Additionally, Michigan Lawyers Weekly named him to its 2014 class of Leaders in the Law, and DBusiness honored him in multiple years as a Top Lawyer in employment law.

Please join us in congratulating Dan on this esteemed honor!
