Nathan Robbins found his passion for advocacy during his externship with the Kent County Office of the Defender, where he represented the underserved and ensured their rights were protected. He has brought that passion and dedication to Sommers Schwartz, where he fights for clients who have faced discrimination, retaliation, or wrongful discharge.
Since joining Sommers Schwartz, Nate has supported the firm’s Employment Litigation team by drafting complaints, motions, and discovery responses, conducting depositions, and managing trial strategies. His role also involves pre-suit litigation tasks such as drafting EEOC charges and demand letters while performing detailed legal research to inform attorneys on critical and evolving areas of law.
Nate received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he earned Dean’s List recognition in multiple terms and graduated cum laude. While in law school, Nate focused his legal studies heavily on litigation and trial work, earning Book Awards in both Trial Practice and Litigation Technology. His undergraduate experience at Michigan State University’s James Madison College (B.A. in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy) further complements his understanding of the law, public policy, and governmental processes.
With a commitment to delivering exceptional legal service to his clients and a drive to help those who need it most, Nate has become an invaluable addition to the Sommers Schwartz litigation team.
