American College of Trial Lawyers Appoints Judy Susskind Vice Chair of the Michigan State Committee
We are pleased to announce shareholder, Judy Susskind, has been named Vice Chair of the American College of Trial Lawyers’ Michigan State Committee for 2022-2023.
The American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) is the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America, committed to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice. Judy was inducted as an ACTL fellow in 2018.
For more than 30 years, Judy has focused her practice on medical malpractice and personal injury matters, successfully fighting for individuals and families injured at the hands of doctors, nurses, healthcare providers, and others.
Besides ACTL, Judy is an executive board member and past president of the Michigan Association for Justice and a fellow of the prestigious, invitation-only American Board of Trial Advocates. In 2023, she will serve as the President of the Michigan ABOTA Chapter.
Judy has been recognized with numerous honors and awards, such as repeated inclusion on the Michigan Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers lists since 2006 and 2009. Best Lawyers named her “Lawyer of the Year” for medical malpractice in Detroit in 2015, 2017, and 2021, and for personal injury in 2022. Michigan Lawyers Weekly named Judy among the most influential “Women in the Law” in 2019 and “Leader in the Law” and the “Lawyer of the Year” in 2004. In 2020, the State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law Section honored her with the Earl J. Cline/Sherwin Schreier Award for Excellence.
