Attorney Tad T. Roumayah of Sommers Schwartz, PC, secured a $450,000 pre-suit settlement for his client, a 30-year-old man and former funeral home worker who was subjected to months of sexual harassment by his male supervisor, who is in his 60s.

The supervisor’s shocking verbal and physical sexual harassment included, but was not limited to:

  • Asking my client if he had “ever been molested” while placing a hand on my client’s upper thigh.
  • Making repeated vulgar comments, including asking if my client “likes to give head,” asking “how often” he masturbates, complimenting his “great ass,” and questioning how old he was when he had his first sexual encounter.
  • Asking if he had ever “made out with an old man,” and attempting to kiss my client.
  • Pressuring my client to take off his shirt to reveal his “muscles and tattoos.”
  • Grabbing my client’s hand and forcing it onto the supervisor’s crotch.
  • Telling my client that he was “hard to work around” because he made the supervisor “horny.”

Despite clearly objecting, the sexual harassment escalated until my client was forced to resign to protect himself.

Federal and Michigan law protects employees from sexual harassment, no matter who the harasser is.

We’re honored to have secured a $450,000 settlement for our client, empowering him to move forward from this challenging ordeal with strength and dignity.
