For more than thirty years, Linda Roberts has been a key member of the Sommers Schwartz team. Since joining the firm in 1991, she has consistently demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and a commitment to excellence, assisting attorneys and clients with expertise and care. Known for her honest, collaborative approach and ability to easily handle complex responsibilities, Linda plays a crucial role in helping the firm deliver excellent legal services.
What are your responsibilities in your current role at Sommers Schwartz?
I support attorneys by organizing the electronic case files and keeping the cases moving in a timely fashion, along with drafting pleadings, managing court filings, scheduling, and communicating with clients and experts. I also assist whenever someone needs help, whether it’s answering phones or guiding colleagues. After 34 years, I’ve learned how to handle just about anything that comes my way.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I genuinely enjoy the people, both my colleagues and our clients. I like the social interaction and the opportunity to help others, especially those who have been injured and need someone in their corner. Advocating for people in need is something I find truly meaningful and rewarding.
Did you work anywhere before joining Sommers Schwartz? If so, how has that experience helped you here?
Before entering the legal world, I worked at places like the Waffle House, Dun Hot, Inc., and Saturn through Bartech Staffing. Those roles taught me the importance of clear communication and working one-on-one with others. While they weren’t directly related to legal work, they helped shape my work ethic and problem-solving skills. I eventually transitioned into law, which led me to Sommers Schwartz in 1991.
What is your proudest accomplishment at Sommers Schwartz?
I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built and the results I’ve helped achieve through my role over the past 34 years. I’ve been able to work with different attorneys and support their unique needs, all while keeping a focus on the client.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I love spending time outdoors, gardening and tending to our yard and flowers, boating when possible, and I enjoy bowling too. But most of all, I love spending time with my husband, family, and friends, and hanging out with our three dogs: two doodles, Ozzie and Ted Bear, and our poodle, Rex.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Treat people the way you want to be treated, make good choices, and don’t stress too much about things that cannot be changed.
