Sommers Schwartz attorney Robert Sickels has filed a number of lawsuits against Stryker Corporation and its wholly-owned subsidiary Howmedica Osteonics alleging breach of warranty, failure to warn, negligent design, and negligent manufacturing defect originating from the Rejuvenate and ABG II hip replacement systems. In each case, the plaintiff underwent surgery to receive the implant, after which the device failed when the metal surfaces in its neck and stem components rubbed against one another, causing metallic debris to shed and embed in surrounding tissues, necessitating revision surgery to address the injury and remove and replace the allegedly defective implants.
