Judy Susskind Selected to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2025 Class of “Leaders in the Law”
Sommers Schwartz proudly announces that Michigan Lawyers Weekly has named Senior Shareholder Judy Susskind to its annual list of “Leaders in the Law.” This is the second time Judy has received this honor. She and the other honorees were formally recognized at an awards luncheon on November 14, 2025.
Each year, Michigan Lawyers Weekly spotlights lawyers who have obtained significant accomplishments or achievements in the practice, demonstrated leadership in improving Michigan’s justice system, and seek to improve the legal community and their communities at large.
Recognized nationwide for her skill and professionalism in the courtroom, Judy’s career reflects not only her excellent trial record but also her strong dedication to clients, colleagues, and the legal profession.
Judy advocates for plaintiffs in medical malpractice and personal injury cases. She has tried and resolved hundreds of cases, and her advocacy has resulted in significant recoveries for her clients as well as hospital policy changes that protect future patients.
Beyond the courtroom, Judy has served as president of the Michigan Association for Justice, president of the Michigan Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and chair of the American College of Trial Lawyers’ Michigan State Committee. She continues to moderate seminars, contribute to legal education, and mentor young lawyers.
Colleagues and opposing counsel alike admire Judy’s trial skills, integrity, and professionalism. She exemplifies what it means to be both an advocate and a leader; someone who elevates the profession, fights for justice for those in need, and mentors the next generation of lawyers. Please join us in congratulating Judy on being named a 2025 Leader in the Law.
