$4.896 Million Verdict – Wrongful Death of a Cardiac Patient
In December 2024, attorneys Kenneth T. Watkins and John M. Malone III secured a $4,895,961 jury verdict in Estate of Charles Woodson v. William Beaumont Hospital, et al. The case involved a cardiac patient who suffered fatal complications due to surgical negligence at an Oakland County hospital. Tried before Hon. Kwame L. Rowe, the jury found the surgeon and hospital liable for the wrongful death, awarding nearly $4.9 million to the plaintiff’s estate.
$3.75 Million Settlement – Birth Injury Due to Medical Negligence
In April 2024, attorney Richard Groffsky successfully negotiated a $3.75 million settlement on behalf of a newborn who suffered hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) after being deprived of oxygen during labor. The confidential case alleged that the hospital and medical providers failed to provide appropriate care, resulting in significant, lifelong injuries.
