Alexis Amy

Alexis Amy knows what it means to work hard. She understands what it’s like to be an employee facing difficult or unfair workplace issues, and she appreciates the financial, practical, and emotional challenges involved when a worker seeks to protect or exercise their rights. That sense of empathy and recognition, a product of ten years of experience in a variety of jobs before embarking on her legal career, makes Alexis well-suited to her role representing employees in a wide range of employment disputes.

A former Sommers Schwartz law clerk, Alexis is passionate about her work and committed to using her advocacy skills to obtain the best possible results for her clients. She takes the time to listen to their stories and develop an understanding of their concerns and goals. An exceptional communicator, Alexis can discern what truly matters to each client and works closely with them throughout the lifecycle of a dispute to provide clarity and a path forward.

A graduate, cum laude, of the University of San Diego, Alexis earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she received the Dean’s Scholarship and served as Executive Articles Editor of the school’s Law Review. During law school, Alexis also worked as a research assistant to Dean Nicholas Schroeck and as a judicial intern to Judge Judith E. Levy of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, where she gained valuable behind-the-bench insights that inform her current litigation practice.
