The attorneys in Sommers Schwartz’s Class Action Group recently filed a lawsuit against The Auto Club Group and MemberSelect alleging that customers are being denied coverage for water damage claims. (You can read the announcement here). We are now investigating other types of insurance-related claims, an in particular, denials of coverage for organic roofing shingles.

Asphalt shingles account for 75% of all roofs in the United States. Efforts to make houses “greener” with more environmentally friendly products produced an organic shingle. Unfortunately, these shingles performed poorly, often prematurely decaying and delaminating, leading to their being discontinued. Some homeowners and building owners who experienced damage and were forced to replace these substandard roofing systems have been denied insurance coverage.

If you have experienced this situation and have been denied coverage by any insurer, please contact us – we’d like to learn more.
