Following the law and paying you for your hard work and dedication is the least you should expect from your employer, but Jacob Rusch knows that all too often, companies fail or refuse to fulfill even these fundamental obligations. When they do, Jacob leverages his fierce determination and skilled advocacy to hold them accountable, getting his clients the compensation, justice, and other relief they deserve in unpaid FLSA wage and overtime claims.
Jacob understands that workers who are being taken advantage of by their employers are at a significant disadvantage when trying to vindicate their rights and obtain wages they have earned and are entitled to under the law. He has seen how companies try to skirt their responsibilities and the devastating impact such misconduct can have on workers and their families. That is why he has focused his career on balancing the playing field and making things right for workers in Michigan, Minnesota, and throughout the country.
In his FLSA practice, Jacob has been involved in hundreds of wage-and-hour cases against some of the largest employers in the United States, recovering substantial sums for his clients through judgments and negotiated settlements. He works closely and collaboratively with his clients, and appreciates that the longer they have to wait for compensation, the more difficult their circumstances become. While he will not hesitate to take a case through trial when needed to get his clients what they deserve, he strives, whenever possible, to reach early resolutions that put money in their pockets so they can move forward with their lives.
In addition to his wage and hour work, Jacob has substantial experience in large, multi-district class and collective actions, as well as in representing individuals injured by defective medical devices or pharmaceuticals. One of the many keys to Jacob’s effectiveness as an advocate is his deep experience with electronic discovery and related technologies, with an extensive background handling electronically stored information (ESI) in large, complex litigation. His adeptness at managing and leveraging the vast amount of documents and data generated during discovery gives his clients a distinct advantage in such matters.
