Experienced advocate and respected mentor
For over three decades, Jay Yasso has been a tireless champion for survivors of
sexual abuse and sexual assaults at the hands of bosses, co-employees, and the clergy.
Jay has sued private companies and educational and religious institutions that fail to protect
the rights of sexual abuse victims even after those in charge were placed on notice of
the sexual acts being perpetrated. Jay’s advocacy in representing sexual assault
victims is reflected in the multi-million dollar settlements he has achieved
on behalf of his clients.
Jay’s practice also focuses on professional negligence, product liability, and general
civil litigation, where he has litigated, mediated, and facilitated numerous multi-million
dollars settlements for his clients.
Jay is also an active member of St. Regis Parish, where he was elected to the Board of
Directors of the School Finance Committee and the school’s Capital Campaign
Committee. He is also a member of the St. Regis Booster’s Club and Dad’s Club, and
has been a basketball coach, counselor, and mentor for boys and girls participating in
Catholic Youth Organization for the past 15 years.
Jay sits on the board of the D-MAN Foundation, a non-profit devoted to helping
people with disabilities, and for which he has worked to build a music therapy studio,
earning him the nickname “The Music Man.”
