Paulina Kennedy represents firm clients who have been wronged by their employers. She supports litigation involving various substantive state and federal court employment law claims, ranging from wage and hour disputes to sexual harassment, discrimination, whistleblowing and retaliation, and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) violations.
Paulina never takes for granted that clients trust her to tell them the truth about their case and position and what to expect during the process. A caring and generous people person at heart, it is no surprise Paulina practices plaintiff-side employment law advocacy – defending the rights of individuals unfairly treated in the workplace.
Valued for being organized and competitive, coupled with her steadfast drive to win both inside and outside of court, Paulina is a diligent legal researcher, proficient writer, and considerate litigator who derives tremendous job satisfaction proving her value to clients and colleagues in everything she does. Notably, Paulina brings particular know-how in working with experts and other witnesses to prove her client’s case and prepare the firm’s legal team for whatever lies ahead.
Paulina serves as a pro bono volunteer for expungement clients through Lakeshore Legal Aid. During law school, she worked in Judge David M. Lawson’s chambers and the Federal Pro Se Legal Assistance Clinic in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. There, she gained an insider’s view of how the court functions and makes decisions. Paulina also worked for firms focused on municipal law and drug and medical device litigation, where she gained a wide breadth of experience representing a variety of clients in state and federal court litigation.
Outside of the office, Paulina enjoys spending time with her family. An enthusiastic foodie, Paulina can be spotted exploring the Detroit restaurant scene. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Paulina maintained a small business baking and delivering pies out of her home – an activity that still brings her joy today.
