The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan approved a $300,000 settlement of an overtime class action brought against Amurcon Corporation for violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). In the lawsuit, thirty-five (35) plaintiffs alleged that Amurcon violated the FLSA by requiring them to take compensatory time off work in lieu of overtime pay, requiring them to work off the clock without pay, and docking them pay for allegedly failing to punch in/out correctly. Sommers Schwartz represented the class of plaintiffs that included many of Amurcon’s maintenance technicians, office staff, janitors, and security guards.
