Women who were sexually abused by a USA Gymnastics coach or trainer or sexually assaulted at a USA Gymnastics Member Gym have the right to make a legal claim and seek damages. According to a newly imposed deadline, however, the window to file that claim ends on April 29, 2019.
Why the Deadline?
USA Gymnastics filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and the court overseeing the bankruptcy case has established that claims of sexual misconduct by USA personnel and facilities will be barred if not filed by April 29, 2019.
