We at Sommers Schwartz are proud to endorse University of Michigan Law Professor Bridget Mary McCormack in her candidacy for a spot on the Michigan Supreme Court, but we couldn’t imagine that we’d be in such good company!
Regulars from NBC’s drama series “The West Wing” including Martin Sheen, Lily Tomlin, Joshua Malina, Janel Moloney, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, and Richard Schiff reunited to reprise their roles for an ad promoting the candidate while also instructing the public regarding the issues involved with the non-partisan portion of Michigan’s November election ballot. Just how did Professor McCormack rally the cast behind her? Her sister, Mary McCormack, who played the part of the Deputy National Security Advisor, called Ms. Janney and Mr. Whitford, her closest friends from the show, and asked them to do a campaign video. They agreed, and the result has become a viral video sensation that entertains and informs voters in Michigan and elsewhere.
