Police arrested 26-year-old Jacob Kromberg of Howell, Michigan, who was the Director of Operations and a sports scientist for the University of Michigan women’s soccer team and a junior varsity coach for Ann Arbor’s Pioneer High School boys’ soccer team.

In February 2024, FBI investigators began looking at Kromberg after they received a report from another coach that a 14-year-old student had received a Snapchat message from Kromberg asking for oral sex in exchange for money, along with partially undressed photos, according to FBI Special Agent Michael Wiggins. Records show that Kromberg may have sent numerous messages using Snapchat to other minors seeking oral sex for cash.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, FBI agents executed a search warrant at Kromberg’s home, seizing an external hard drive, which, according to Agent Wiggins, showed “multiple images depicting child pornography in a subfolder.” Kromberg was taken into custody and charged with coercion and enticement of a minor, as well as receiving and possessing child pornography. Kromberg is being lodged in the Genesee County Jail.
