Detroit Mislabeled Protein Powders Lawyer
When the companies that manufacture and sell Muscle Milk, Monster Milk, and other protein powders represent that their products are healthy, people trust that the list of nutritional ingredients is correct – but you can’t believe everything you read.
Class action lawsuits against CytoSport, MusclePharm, and other protein drink makers have shed light on deceptive sales practices aimed at inducing consumers to purchase their products.
Some of the allegations raised in those lawsuits include:
- Muscle Milk labels included specific protein and nutrient information that was inaccurate and which was not tested and verified in accordance with federal laws.
- L-Glutamine, an amino acid believed to improve our immune systems and assist in muscle recovery were advertised listed among Muscle Milk’s ingredients, yet the protein powders included only trace amounts at best.
- CytoSport products promoted as “lean” actually contained high levels of added fats, oils, and fillers, misleading consumers into buying its protein powders over competitors’ healthier products.
Athletes intent on improving performance, people focused on managing their weight, and other nutrition-aware consumers have fallen victim to these and other misrepresentations, costing them money and compromising their health.
